Professor Anthony Ferro has been in martial arts for over 17 years, starting with hapkido and working his way to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA. He served in the United States Marine Corps where he got involved in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA. He served two tours in Iraq, once in 2005 and then again in 2006. He took a special interest in BJJ after watching Royce Gracie win in the early UFC days against much larger opponents consistently. He has been training for 10 years, and currently holds a black belt. Professor Ferro has also trained in Muay Thai at Team Toro in Illinois, wrestled with Manny Vasquez and Ron Valdez. Professor Ferro holds an undefeated mixed martial arts record at 7 wins, no losses at 125 pounds. In addition to BJJ instruction, Professor Ferro has been a personal trainer for the last seven years. Professor Ferro still actively competes all over the United States, including medaling 14 times as a black belt at IBJJF.
Ferro Academy has a studio that caters to all martial arts. It was designed with the students safety as the number one priority.
